Fire Risk Assessments look not only at your electrical appliances themselves, but also the environment in which these appliances are being used. A regular programme of inspection and testing of Emergency Lighting and Servicing of Fire Extinguishers all form part of a diligent safety policy.

Are Fire Escape Routes kept clear at all times? Is flammable material such as paper, cardboard removed on a daily bases and store in a non flammable metal skip? Are chemicals stored in a properly controlled environment so as to minimise danger?

reducing the risk of fire

The Health & Safety Executive states that 25% of all reportable electrical accidents involve portable appliances.

There are steps that we can all take to reduce the risk of these accidents. The Risk of an electrical fire being causes due to an appliance becoming faulty is often the main cause of fire breaking out.

Risk Assessments of the appliances and a program of inspection and testing is the most productive way to minimise this happening. (PAT Testing)
